Description:
Fun and funky, this clay project is for the more advanced clay participant.
Participants will create a funky lidded pot with handle. Participants create a curved cylinder and construct a lid. Several advanced techniques are used in the construction. The handles are pulled and then bent to make the arms. The pot is constructed of a basic cylinder and then the shape is altered by pushing and pulling the clay into the intended shape. The lid is constructed using a small bowl mold, and conforming it to the desired size and shape to fit the cylinder. The lid will then get a handle in proportion to the piece.
Participants will learn:
- cylinder construction
- how to pull handles
- fitting a top/ lid
- modifying a cylindrical shape ( without cracking)
