Description:
This process results in unique organic looking surfaces on pottery. It is an alternative firing process. Two people remove hot pots from the gas kiln. Participants will sprinkle sugar, splash fermented mixture and have pieces dipped.

Materials:
âClay pieces must be made from WS-5 clay and terra sigged in preparation for firing day. Bisque will be special low temperature so participants MUST place work in the window staging area with a yellow raku slip clearly labeled Obvara. Glaze and Firing stickers required.
On firing day, participants must wear cotton or wool long pants, long sleeved tops, closed toed shoes and socks. Hats to cover hair and eye wear are also required.

- Skill level: All skill levels welcome. If first alternative firing experience, meet with the instructor for additional instruction.
