Indulge In Our Space
Pottery wheels, tables for hand-building, flat rollers, forms, molds and extruders are here for members’ use. Colorful glazes await your flair. And our team will fire your work in our on-site kilns. Need clay or tools? Our supply store has what you need.

Everyone is welcome here — from beginner to advanced. All you need is a desire to learn and grow. We’ll teach you the basics of working with clay, glazing and firing. Then take part in a wealth of classes offered by experienced instructors to bring your ideas to life.

Explore the world of Alternative Firing with sparkling colors and exciting effects. Choose from traditional Raku or Horsehair and your own style.

Achieve exciting finishes with traditional Raku glazes or Horsehair in this popular Alternative Firing. Bold beginners welcome.

Wheel 1
Ready to try the wheel? Learn the fundamentals of centering and opening clay. This is the beginning of throwing forms on the potter’s wheel.

Large Textured Vase
Shape a statement piece that reflects your artistic flair. Learn to create a large vase with contrasting textured and smooth surfaces using slabs and seam binding to assemble the form.

Leapin’ Lizards
Create a fun, textural critter with various parts including body, tail, legs and head along with spines and even feet! Focus will be on construction.

Pumpkins & Snowmen
Learn to use templates and make simple pots to create playful pumpkins, smiling snowmen or other forms from your imagination.

Puzzle Pot
Create decorative pots using two-piece molds, shaped clay slabs and coils, then finish with a stain, glaze or alternative firing.

We offer one of the few Alternative Firing opportunities available in the western suburbs. Elevate the possibilities with a Raku, Naked Raku, Obvara or Saggar firing.
Scheduled Sunday mornings Oct - April. Additional fees required.

All residents of The Grand — from beginner to artisan potters — are welcome to join and explore the possibilities of creating art with this ancient material. Members in good standing are encouraged to share their creations to display and sell in the gallery and Grand Market Days.
